Purane dino ki tarah

Mere har sur mein, har taal mein
Zindegi ke har khayal mein
Aaj piya tum phir se
Aate kyun nahi
Punare dino ki tarah
Kahi aas paas tum
Nazar ate kyun nahi

Dur badalon mein chup gaya hai
Joh chand aaj sharmakar
Nigahe meri dhunde use
Har gali har raha par

Sigdha shamo mein teri shant baate
Dil ko chu jata kyun nahi
Purane dino ki tarah
Kahi aas paas tum
Nazar ate kyun nahi

Yad hai kabhi saath baith kar
Karte the sukh dukh ki baate
Zindegi ke raho mein
Kabhi ho jati thi mulakate

Un viran galiyon par
Aaj tanha chalti hoon mai
Tum ate kyun nahi
Purane dino ki tarah
Kahi aas paas tum
Nazar ate kyun nahi

Subah ki pehli kiran mein
Ek saya sa jhalakta hai
Woh saya dekhkar kadme meri
Us wor chala jata hai
Kuch dur jakar woh saya phir
Nazar ata kyun nahi
Purane dino ki tarah
Kahi aas paas tum
Nazar ate kyun nahi

Woh chaya kya ek hakikat hai
Wah sirf kalpana hai mere pyar ka
Wah phir kya woh paigam hai
Tumhare intezaar ka
Puchti hoon mai yeh zindegi se
Yeh kuch kehta kyun nahi
Purane dino ki tarah
Kahi aas paas woh
Nazar ata kyun nahi

I'm not much of a poet myself, so I go around asking people what makes a poet express some feelings, own or others', in the words that rhyme so perfectly. But the answers I get do not satisfy my quest to get into the psyche of a poet. So tell me: Is it the self, the feelings, the experiences one has had that bring out a poem, or is it that the poet sees the people around who experienced those things and the poet just used his/her words? The affirmative answer to any of the questions, I know, would make me more inquisitive for the poem in context; but I'd refrain from asking any further. :-)

Hi Anupam
thanks for reading my poems.
Every creative piece of arts be it prose or poetry is a combination of fact and fiction. As such none of my poems is purely based on reality or it is purely based on imagination, it is rathar a mixer of the two- only the proportion of the mixture various from poem from poem. Some of my poems are based on some of my real life experiences, others are based on the experiences of my friends/ near and dear ones,- their experiences/emotions which I had empathised with, while still other are inspired by some songs, poetries, movies, stories or biographies which touched my heart so deeply that i was compelled to rhyme them in my words. Some poems are completely my vicarious feelings, situated which i have never experienced in reality but have conjectured how would I have reacted to them. My poetries are a pursuit for perfection as u may say, perfection which is never attainable in everyday life. May be the imperfections i perceive in everyday life drive me more and more to the world of imagination where everything is beautiful and everything is pure. Yes, I am extremist as you might think & that is why I write poems - i imagine those things unachievable in real world. Or may be I am an escapist who want to escape from the real world situation. And perhaps my escape to the world of dreams and unrealities is a sign of my imperfection as well. Nonetheless I am glad that I have received that happiness/bliss in imagination which I can never attain in real life. In other words, I am glad that I have always escaped from real world.

" Sapney agar hai khubsurat itne,
Toh yeh bhala ek jhoot hi sahi,
Do pal ki agar yeh kusi de dil ko,
Mujhe nindh se kabhi jagana nahi."

Dear Sas,

Nice poem, One more thing

"iatni bhi na duba karo sapnome
kahi jagnese hi dar lagne lage
jo nigahe pyarse dekhte hai tumhe
aapki sapnonke wajise wo aapni roshni khone na lage"

Nice poem once again dear. keep it up.

Regards,
Kumar
